WHATS NEW IN v1.2?

​-The Alps Trip: One leg was giving the incorrect course between Junction and Le Versoud.

 

-Niagara Trip: MSFS uses an incorrect and outdated ICAO code of "D38" for Canandaigua airport. This prevented the correct recognition of a landing at the airport. This update resolves this until it is corrected by Asobo in the future.

-Minor manual improvements

 

 

HOW DO I GET UPDATES?

Redownload from your place of purchase to obtain the latest version.

Some stores such as SimMarket operate a customer notification system where you should receive an email to inform you that there has been an update.  There will also be forum posts on the official MSFS forums.

Stores are provided with the latest version simultaneously, but some may take longer than others to update their systems.

For an update to take effect, you may have to delete your progress, as outlined in the manual. Consider delaying an update if you do not wish to reset your progress.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE INCLUDED MANUAL?

The manual is included in your ZIP file along with installation instructions.

 

Orbx: After installation, click 'User Guide' on the product page in Orbx Central.

HOW DO I INSTALL VOYAGER?

Installation is as simple as drag and drop:

1 - Unzip "FS Academy - VOYAGER vXX.ZIP" and locate the "fsacademy-voyager" folder contained within.

2 - Drag & Drop “fsacademy-voyager” into your MSFS Community folder.

3 - Restart MSFS and the Missions will be in the Bush Trips Menu.

 

WHERE ARE THE TRIPS IN-GAME?

The missions are found under Activities -> Bush Trips.

FINDING THE COMMUNITY FOLDER

The location of your COMMUNITY folder depends on the store from which you purchased MSFS and whether you chose a custom installation location.

 

CUSTOM LOCATION

If you chose your own installation directory when you first installed MSFS, you should easily be able to locate the community folder.

For example: D:/Games/MSFS/Community

 

STEAM

If you purchased MSFS via Steam, your community folder is typically located here:

C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community

 

 

MICROSOFT STORE or GAME PASS

If you purchased MSFS via the MS Store, your community folder is typically located here:

C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulatornumbersandletters\LocalCache\Packages

 

 

DEVELOPER MODE

If you are unable to locate you Community folder at the above typical locations, try the following to reveal your Community folder location:

1 - Enable Developer Mode in Options -> General -> Developer Mode ON

2 - In the new Developer menu that appears at the top of your screen, click Tools -> Virtual File System -> Watched Bases. 3 - See the Community folder location listed in the box.

 

  

 

SEARCH ONLINE

This Drag + Drop method of installation is identical to countless other addons for MSFS.

If you still cannot find your community folder after completing the above troubleshooting steps, consider searching online as there are many forum posts and guidance provided online.

 

 

MISSIONS DO NOT APPEAR IN GAME OR I GET A CONTENT MANAGER ERROR MESSAGE

Check your installation

Ensure you have unzipped VOYAGER and put the "fsacademy-voyager" folder in your community folder.

Mod Conflict

You may have a conflict with another mod or package.

Please move all mods out of your community folder and only have "fsacademy-voyager" in there as a compatibility test.

You can then re-introduce mods one by one to see which is causing the issue.

Two Community Folders

Some installations may have created TWO community folders. If missions are missing, use the Developer Mode steps above to see which folder is used by MSFS and put "fsacademy-voyager" into that folder.

Uninstalled Aircraft

After MSFS updates, aircraft may become uninstalled without your knowledge, causing them to disappear in the aircraft select screen and hiding any missions that use that aircraft. Use the Content Manager within MSFS to reinstall missing aircraft.

Redownload

There have been rare cases where a downloaded ZIP had become corrupted, preventing the missions from appearing in game. Try to redownload from your place of purchase and try installation again.

HOW DO I SET WEATHER/TIME/SEASON?

On the first leg of a bush trip, you have the opportunity to set the Weather, date, season, time etc with the weather icon in the toolbar. The settings you choose will persist for the remainder of that trip. To reset them you will need to delete your progress and restart the trip, using the below technique.

HOW DO I DELETE MY PROGRESS AND RESTART A BUSH TRIP?

To delete your progress and start a trip again, navigate to this standard path and delete the save files for that trip. Be careful to only delete the saves for the trips you intend to restart. This folder may need unhiding.

 

We recommend Pinning this location to your start menu for easy access:

C:/Users/NAME/AppData/Local/Packages/Microsoft.FlightSimulator_LETTERS+NUMBERS/LocalState/MISSIONS/ACTIVITIES

Steam users should look here:

AFTER LANDING THE LEG DOES NOT END

MSFS Bush Trip logic requires that you come to a full stop ON THE RUNWAY at the end of each leg.

If this only occurs when landing in Canandaigua as part of the New York trip, make sure to update to v1.2.

MY FLIGHTS ARE NOT APPEARING IN MY LOGBOOK

At present there appears to be issues with MSFS not recording flights.

Whether they be Bush-Trips, Free Flight or Missions, this is not connected to FS Academy missions and is expected to be improved by the MSFS team over time.

MY AVIONICS SCREENS ARE BLANK

There is currently a glitch with MSFS where your avionics may be blanked when loading a flight. Press ESC and RESTART the flight to resolve this. Multiple attempts may be required. This is not specific to VOYAGER and is a known issue with MSFS.

WHEN RELOADING A FLIGHT, THE FLIGHT PLAN IS MISSING

There is currently another glitch with MSFS where a loading a saved flight causes the flightplan to disappear from your avionics and VFR map. We expect this to be resolved by the MSFS team.

ARE TRANSLATED VERSIONS AVAILABLE?

Currently only English voice and text guidance is available. 

 

FS Academy is a small independent studio which makes obtaining multiple voiceovers and manual versions in various languages and professionally translated subtitles unfeasible for the time being.
