HELP IS HERE
WHERE CAN I FIND THE INCLUDED MANUAL?
The manual is included in your ZIP file along with installation instructions.
WITH IFR INSTALLED, THE GAME CRASHES WHEN ENDING A FLIGHT
The USA World Update introduced a CTD (Crash to Desktop) when IFR was installed.
Please update IFR to the latest version (Version 1.2) from your place of purchase, which fixes this issue completely.
HOW DO I INSTALL IFR?
Until third parties are permitted to list Missions in the in-game marketplace, a manual installation is required:
1 - Unzip "FS Academy IFR vXX.ZIP" and locate the "fsacademy-ifr" package folder contained within.
2 - Drag & Drop “fsacademy-ifr” package folder into your MSFS Community folder.
3 - Restart MSFS and the Missions will be in the Bush Trips Menu.
WHERE DO I FIND THE MISSIONS IN-GAME?
The missions are currently located under Activities -> Bush Trips.
Please disregard the “Legs” and “Duration” stats on the left side of the briefing pages, as they are not applicable to these missions.
If they do not appear in the Bush Trips menu, please check your installation instructions on this page and ensure you restart the sim after making any changes.
HOW DO I FIND THE COMMUNITY FOLDER?
The location of your COMMUNITY folder depends on the store from which you purchased MSFS and whether you chose a custom installation location.
You may have TWO Community folders. To check this, follow the developer mode instructions below to find the location of the correct folder.
If you chose your own installation directory when you first installed MSFS, you should easily be able to locate the community folder.
For example: D:/Games/MSFS/Community
If you purchased MSFS via Steam, your community folder is typically located here:
C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community
MICROSOFT STORE or GAME PASS
If you purchased MSFS via the MS Store, your community folder is typically located here:
If you are unable to locate you Community folder at the above typical locations, try the following to reveal your Community folder location:
1 - Enable Developer Mode in Options -> General -> Developer Mode ON
2 - In the new Developer menu that appears at the top of your screen, click Tools -> Virtual File System -> Watched Bases. 3 - See the Community folder location listed in the box.
If you still experience difficulties, consult online resources such as YouTube and Forums, where many other users are also locating their Community folders to install other addons such as aircraft liveries and freeware scenery.
I AM SURE THAT I HAVE CORRECTLY PUT "fsacademy-ifr" IN COMMUNITY FOLDER, BUT MISSIONS DO NOT APPEAR IN BUSH TRIPS.
You may have a conflict with another mod or package.
Please move all mods out of your community folder and only have "fsacademy-ifr" in there as a compatibility test.
You can then re-introduce mods one by one to see which is causing the issue.
A 152X mod is known to have caused a conflict, causing the first 3 missions to be hidden, which use the C152.
Two Community Folders
Some installations may have created TWO community folders. If missions are missing, use the Developer Mode steps above to see which folder is used by MSFS and put "fsacademy-ifr" into that folder.
After MSFS updates, aircraft may become uninstalled without your knowledge, causing them to disappear in the aircraft select screen and hiding any missions that use that aircraft. Use the Content Manager within MSFS to reinstall missing aircraft.
I START THE MISSION BUT I HAVE NO VOICE OR TEXT GUIDANCE
Please ensure you have enabled Voice Sound and Subtitles within your MSFS settings.
You may have disabled this previously to silence ATC, for example.
The setting can be found under Settings -> General -> Accessibility
AFTER PAUSING AND UNPAUSING, I HAVE NO VOICE OR TEXT GUIDANCE
There currently appears to be a glitch with MSFS regarding the passage of time whilst a flight is paused.
This can be observed in a mission such as those included with IFR by noting the time on your aircraft clock, pausing for an amount of time, then unpausing and seeing that the aircraft clock has continued in the background.
Some mission triggers are location activated, whilst others are time based. If the flight happens to be paused whilst awaiting a time activated trigger, dialog and instructions may be triggered silently in the background whilst the flight is paused, leading to missed instructions on your return.
Until this is addressed by the MSFS developers, please avoid pausing during a mission.
