FIND VFR

After installation, restart the sim and locate the missions in ACTIVITIES - CUSTOM CONTENT.

The Bush Trip missions (VFR 9, 10 + 11) are found under BUSH TRIPS within the CUSTOM CONTENT menu.

If the missions are not present, please check the following steps:

REINSTALL AIRCRAFT

Use the in-game Content Manager to ensure that the default C152, Robin DR400, DA40 NG and Beechcraft Bonanza are installed.

Note that some addon liveries can cause missions to be hidden, so please remove these liveries.

INSTALLATION

Ensure that you have restarted the sim after installation.

For marketplace customers, please ensure that the purchase and download process completed successfully, checking that payment was taken and download has completed.

For non-marketplace customers, please redownload the product to rule out a corrupted ZIP and refer to the installation instructions included inside, placing the unzipped package in your the community folder.

FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2024

This release is made for Flight Simulator (2020). Future availability in the upcoming FS2024 may be offered, but cannot be guaranteed. This will depend on whether we can directly port the pack across to the new sim, which we will explore when it releases.

KNOWN ISSUES

VFR 02 Go-around Guidance

We have occasional reports of the go-around section of VFR 02 not completing correctly.

This tends to be where the pilot begins the procedure before being instructed to do so.

Please note that we talk through this manoeuvre before it is performed, so pay close attention to your instructor and have onscreen objectives displayed to ensure that the lesson is being followed correctly.

We will review and update the dialog to make this discussion more clearly differentiated from the manoeuvre itself in a future update.

GETTING UPDATES

All stores are provided with the latest version simultaneously. Marketplace conducts internal testing and processing, taking more time for an update to become available for download. Updates can cause BUSH TRIP progress to be reset.

Your currently installed version can be seen within Content Manager.

For non-marketplace customers, login to your store of choice to download the latest version.

ON-SCREEN OBJECTIVES

The objectives will list each required step of the missions in real time.

Ensure that the objectives panel is displayed by using the in-game toolbar.

TURBULENCE

Flight Simulator has an adjustable intensity of in flight turbulence. The 'Realistic' setting appears to be excessive compared to real life and causes controllability problems in excess of what would be expected for the conditions. Turbulence can be set to 'LOW' in the following menu:

OPTIONS - ASSISTANCE OPTIONS - PILOTING - TURBULENCE 'LOW'

SCORING

Only a basic form of scoring is currently implemented, awarding the maximum score if the mission is completed successfully. More refined scoring may be implemented in the future. The awarded score is not retained by MSFS, so will not be shown in the menus.

MOD COMPATIBILITY

FS Academy missions packs may not be compatible with other third-party mods.

If you find that aircraft systems do not behave as expected, such as blank radios , issues with VR, visible 3D pilot 'avatar' and inoperative instruments, uninstall any aircraft mods you may have to ensure correct functioning.

BUSH TRIPS - RESETING

To restart a Bush Trip, select the desired start point from the briefing screen. You should be able to click 'Restart From'.

If not available, you can also 'Continue' the first leg of the trip then press ESC and RESTART.

Bush Trip saving behaviour has historically been temperamental and regularly changed, for both official and third party bush trips.

Note that if XBOX users reset their Reserved Space will lose many of their content and settings, including Bush Trip saved progress. This method is not recommended to reset progress.

BUSH TRIPS - ENDING A LEG

MSFS Bush Trip logic requires that you come to a full stop ON THE RUNWAY at the end of each leg.

LANGUAGE SUPPORT

Only English voice and text guidance is available, including full subtitles.

Language expansions and transcripts are not currently planned, but are considered for a future update.

STORE ENQUIRIES

Issues regarding payments, account details and failed downloads should be directed to the relevant store, who will be able to offer assistance via their customer support channels. It is understood that stores do not permit transferring of purchases to another store.
